Product Features

The Vespel® S polyimide parts and shapes offer different types of properties. 

The Vespel® S product line is a relatively mature polyimide for demanding applications requiring high heat resistance, abrasion resistance, strength and impact resistance.

SP-1

Not filled. It exhibits excellent wear resistance and insulation at operating temperatures from low to 300 °C. Low conductivity. The SP series has high elongation and purity. Can be supplied in the form of custom parts or profiles.


SP-21

Graphite reinforced with low friction properties for applications with or without lubrication. Can be supplied in the form of custom parts or profiles.


SP-202

Conductive parts help to eliminate static electricity. It has high wear resistance, dimensional stability and good machinability under high temperature conditions. It can be supplied in the form of profiles.


SP-211

It has a lower coefficient of friction than SP-21 in applications without lubrication. Can be supplied in the form of custom parts or profiles.


SP-22

Design flexibility is provided by lower thermal expansion and dimensional stability. Can be supplied in the form of custom parts or profiles.


SP-221

Suitable for highly specialized applications for soft metals in “no lubrication” conditions. Can be supplied in the form of custom parts.


SP-2515

A lower coefficient of thermal expansion, higher wear resistance and a lower coefficient of friction facilitate dimensional control. Can be supplied in the form of custom parts.


SP-3

With low outgassing, it is suitable for vacuum and dry environments. It can be supplied in the form of profiles.


SMR-0454

Graphite reinforced, reduces friction. It has high modulus, low elongation, high compressive strength, low creep and low offset under load conditions. Can be supplied in the form of custom parts.


ST-2010

Similar to SP-21, it has enhanced toughness, higher elongation and better thermal oxidative stability. It has good resistance to solvents, acids and bases. The shape of the part can be customized.


ST-2030

Similar to SP-22. It has been used for applications where low thermal expansion specific strength (which has been slightly reduced) is important. Applications include bearings, bushings and gaskets. Can be supplied in the form of custom parts.


SCP-5000

Unfilled SCP-5000 has better plasma resistance, dimensional stability and chemical resistance than unfilled SP-1. Similar to SP-1, SCP-5000 also has good insulation. It has a higher elongation and purity in the SCP class. It can be supplied in the form of profiles.


SCP-5050、SCP-5009 SCP-50094

It has higher heat oxidation resistance than SP polyimide and has better chemical resistance. SCP-5050 is comparable to the CTE of steel. SCP-5009 and SCP-50094 are close to the CTE of aluminum. Can be supplied in the form of custom parts or profiles.


SMP-40025

High modulus and low elongation provide dimensional stability under high temperature and load conditions. Can be supplied in the form of custom parts.


SF-0920、SF-0930、SF-0940

Better thermal and electrical insulation properties. SF polyimide foam has high durability compared to low density polyimide foam. Can be supplied in the form of custom parts.
